Two Drabbles on Request

Title: Bad Day
This one is for veronica_rich, with the character Stefan. (Stefan is the helmsman in CotBP who informs Norrington that the rudder chain has been disabled, according to veronica.)

Stefan headed toward his lodgings slowly. It had not been a good day for the Royal Navy, or the sailors who normally crewed both the Interceptor and the Dauntless. First the pirate attack in the night, now the Interceptor had been stolen by Sparrow, and Turner of all people.
Stefan had never thought that Will Turner was capable of piracy. He’d spent time with the journeyman blacksmith, and found the other man smart and law abiding.
Stefan sighed. They were setting out on the Dauntless tomorrow. He’d better be ready.
Even if he didn’t want to chase after a friend.
Title: Don’t Eat Me!
This one is for mamazano, who requested Will having an argument with Cotton's parrot.

“Don’t eat me!”
Will looked at the parrot perched on the nearby rail.
“I’m not going to eat you,” Will replied.
“Don’t eat me! Mind the tide!”
Will stared at the bird. “I already said I’m not going to eat you. You’re probably tough and stringy, anyway.”
“Hard to starboard!”
“No, I won’t apologize,” Will said. He was glad no one else was around.
“Dead men tell no tells!”
“No, I won’t take it back. You’re not a good meal! And I can’t believe I’m arguing with a parrot, and he wants me to admit that he’d actually taste good!”
