Oh boy - being "set straight" by a couple of 12-year-olds has always been MY highest wish, I know. Very Lord of the Flies (as this whole series kind of borders upon being, actually).

I'm curious as to what kind of relationship Jack has with Will and/or Eli (obviously not sexual), if you need any more ideas ...

Actually, Will is physically 13 and Eli is physically 14. They're both actually at least 65 right now, probably closer to 75 years old.

I think I need to read Lord of the Flies. I've never actually read it.

Well, "Sparrow" is first mate. Why would he have any sort of relationship with the cabin boys beyond barking orders at them? (I will not write anything about it, I will not write anything about it. I will not write anything about it. I will not write anything about it...) They don't have a reason to care for each other. Will and Eli band together for mutual protection.

And if you notice I only use one name for each character- it's deliberate. I think that the crewmen on the Dutchman are called by one name for so long, that they forget any others they might have. So, Will, Eli, Sparrow, Bootstrap, and all the rest of the crew only remember the one name, and that's it.

they've banded together to keep safe. and yes, knowing them and the differences in this universe- very vicious, I'm sure.
