Not Threatening
Disclaimer: The characters here belong to Disney, not me.
Characters: Will, crew
Rating: PG
Warnings: Not at all serious
Summary: Will Turner is guardian of more then just the dead at sea. He’s also the guardian of a strange stone ring. Crossover, and not a part of the series.

Author’s Note: pktaxwench was bemoaning the rather serious and depressing stories the POTC fandom has been writing as of late. I told her to give me a prompt and I’d write a humor drabble or double drabble. She chose “Stargate” as the prompt.

It ended up being 300 words, and not as funny as expected. But it's not depressing!

Captain Will Turner frowned as he studied the strange stone ring. It sat upright, on the one bit of land that he could touch for the next ten years.

He walked around it; studying it from all angles. Finally, he sighed, and turned to his first mate. “I admit, I’m stumped.”

Maccus smiled briefly. “Captain Jones didn’t know what it was either. He kept it in the Locker to keep others from finding it.”

“It does have some strange power,” Will said. “It’s probably best to keep it here.” He stiffened as the ring began to move.

Maccus pulled out his axe, as Will summoned more crewmen. Bill, Palifico, and Koleniko hurried over. They watched tensely as the ring continued to spin. Finally, it stopped, but Will jumped back as water seemed to gush out of the ring. He leaned forward. “It’s not water,” he said as he studied it. “But I don’t know what it is.”

Something appeared out of the water-like ripples. Everyone tensed. Will blinked down at it.

“What sort of creature is that?” Bill asked.

“I don’t know,” Will said. He dropped down to one knee to study it. “It’s made of metal, but I don’t know anyone who could forge such a device.”

The device turned.

It’s some tool to do a job- what, I don’t know. But whoever made it knows how to use the power of that stone ring. I wish I knew how this was forged. It’s an ingenious little device.” The little device headed back through the ring.

The water-like power disappeared. Will frowned. “Apparently, it’s no threat. Let’s head back to the ship.”

“We’re not going to wait to see if anything else happens?”

“Why would we?” Will asked Koleniko. “Here in the Locker, whatever happens won’t be a threat.”

Ok, I’m not an expert on Stargate and I don’t know if two-way travel is possible. I’m saying that it is.

(She also suggested giving Cap a sex change and a litter of undead kittens. Maybe next time I need a crack!fic idea.)

I’m not sure if I should post this anywhere else.

drabble, fic: stargate, crossover, fic: potc
