Quick Update
Birthday & Kindle
It was my birthday on Tuesday! As my present I got a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Kindle
I first heard of them through Felicia Day going on about how great they are. It was something I kind of wanted for a long time, but never really thought it was worth it. Then I was doing some more research into it a few months ago and it really convinced me! Andrew is still sad I didn't want an iPad haha, but I really wanted a device solely geared towards reading books.
I'm getting a pink leather case for it as well, but unfortunately they're out of stock right now.
I've bought two books so far, some thriller I don't remember the name of and Priestess of the White by Trudi Canavan. I also downloaded a few free books (there are THOUSANDS of free books, mostly old classics) like Sherlock Holmes, collected fairy tales by Grimm and Andersen. It also supports .pdf format so I'll finally get around to reading wheat's writing that has been sitting on my hard drive for ages.
I've read a few chapters of the thriller and I'm really enjoying the reading experience so far. The only thing I have to be careful of is that I don't turn the pages too quickly. When I read a paper book I tend to start turning the page once I'm reading the final sentence. It's happened a few times that I've turned the page too quickly and not read the last sentence of the page haha.
Holiday
Going on holiday tomorrow. We've rented a cottage in Somerset for a week to celebrate Andrew's sister's 40th birthday. We've got quite a full schedule but it looks like it'll be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to relaxing a bit as it's been a while since we had a holiday.
The Kindle has a very basic text browser so I'll see if I can access LJ (if there is 3G coverage out in the sticks anyway..). I tried accessing Google Reader yesterday but unfortunately that doesn't work =(
Moving
The day after we come back we're supposed to move house. Almost everything is packed and we've booked the removal company.. except the paperwork on the new place is still not finalised. If need be we can push the move back a few days but we only have about 4 days of leeway, then we have to vacate this property. So it's a bit nervewracking.
