some things

i found the headline to this story to be darkly amusing. for those who choose not to click, it reads "girl who needed liver transplant dies."

i know that after reading the article, it was mildly news-worthy, but the idea that hundreds of people die everyday without getting transplants and the headline making it seem like this is an abnormal occurance is sorta funny.

the film "the celebration" is very intense and shocking. when i first rented it, i was intrigued by it and the whole dogme movement, but wasnt interested in the subject. however, this film is brilliant through and through.

i finally saw "videodrome" and that was great as well. "eXistenZ" was interesting, not great, but really fun to write about.

in one of my blow-off intro film classes, we had to write about the strangest film that we have seen projected. I was tempted to write about something i hadnt seen on the big screen, but i was a good boy and chose "un chien andalou." other people in the class chose such "strange" films as kill bill, pi, house of a thousand corpses and some others. its really sad to see how uninformed some people are in terms of film... but i am a crazy film major, so i may just be over-reacting.

i am going to apply to a four week program in france right after this school year ends to finish my last requirement. hopefully i get in.

and oh, the negative version of that test i posted a little bit ago: http://kevan.org/nohari?name=immobilisme
