I'm on holidays now! I don't have to go back to work until November 6th, people! This is a reason for rejoicing. Or at least, sleeping a lot, because god knows I need some. XD
In other news, the brother found the demo for the 360 version of Guitar Hero 3 online. And all you had to do was burn the ISO file onto a DVD, pop it in the machine and it would go so, ha! No running out and buying shitty magazines this time And, oh, where to begin on this front. How about the fact that all of my doubts involving Neversoft being handed this franchise are now confirmed. Let's see. Guitar Hero always had a really cute, somewhat cartoony style and they ruined that (Judy Nails looks awful. They made her shoulders broader and her boobs bigger and she just looks like hell, it's terrible >_<). They now flash your note streak on the screen as you get them, which is annoying as hell and I hope to god you can turn it off. The controls are still somewhat buggy, just in the whammy bar really. But that still interferes with your getting Star Power easily. Oh, and when you actually activate your Star Power, there is no more awesome jumping and flailing about by the character. It's just... I cant' even describe it. It's just lame. It looks like they've dumbed down hard mode which means I might be able to do it as well as medium (which was already pretty damn easy) but ramped up the difficulty on expert. And the track list is really nothing to look forward to. "Evenflow" I was sortof looking forward to, and it's on the demo and really isn't as fun as it could be. Actually, out of the five on the demo, "The Metal" by Tenacious D is probably the most enjoyable. In the game itself, the only one I'm looking forward to is that Dragonforce song, just because that's going to be hard.
On the positive side, the venue looks great. Although still without that adorable cartoony style that the first two games had. But with the background its less important than with the characters themselves.
So, congratulations Neversoft. You're already beginning to drive yet another decent franchise into the ground. And this one wasn't even yours from the start. I've got all my faith riding on Rock Band.... And actually, always have. even if EA is publishing it, it's still Harmonix, and that's the important thing
