(no subject)
I'm getting around to reading book 6 of Durarara again (I don't know why I'm having so many issues sticking with this one. I just keep getting distracted) But anyway. Can I point at this little bit of Celty's thought process and make delighted noises:
- That kid, Aoba-kun, doesn't look like a delinquent but might be a scheming bastard.
- ……Ah, but then when Shinra first brought Izaya home I had thought he looked like a good student too……one can't judge a book by the cover.
Okay, setting aside how fabulous Aoba is, because that stupid kid clearly wants to be Izaya when he grows up. I just... I want to read the story where Celty meets Izaya for the first time. Cause I bet it was during middle school, back when Izaya was......... marginally less awful? (since there is a part of me that believes he was always a little bit awful, or at the very least terribly detached and he was probably going to grow up to be awful anyway, hanging out with Shinra just sped up the process XD) Uh anyway. I just want all the stories about teenage Izaya... and how he is a spectacular little shit but he used to care more about hiding that fact for a while.
[ETA: also, whenever I read Vorona's dialogue there's always a little bit of her that reminds me of Mordin from Mass Effect. The awkward rhythm of her sentences, I just imagine her talking super fast like that. She is just so awesome and I love her. ♥]
