oh hey, so I watched 5Ds 94/95 for about the billionth time
I found what I think might be another translation for 5Ds 94/95 beyond that initial quicksubbed version that I ripped off YouTube. It's still kind of awkward in spots but at the very least it was done with a higher quality raw, even if it is an .mkv file (which I still hate those a lot)
Anyway, EVERY time I watch these episodes (which has been a lot) I swear I notice something new. This translation keeps with the idea that Crow met Pearson and Bolger after Crow walked on TeamSat but before Kiryu got arrested. And watching it again I kind of get the impression that Bolger and Crow (while not BFFs by any stretch of the imagination) knew each other better than Crow knew Pearson. And that the only reason Pearson told Crow to take care of his bike and the kids is because Crow was there and the next oldest. I'm actually starting to speculate that maybe Crow hung around for a bit after the fire or they even kept in a vague sort of touch before Bolger managed to get his ass to the City and cut ties completely.
So really for Crow Pearson wasn't so much anyone he was particularly close to as he was an ideal. Something to believe in after Team Satisfaction that, oh hey, GOT FUCKED UP SPECTACULARLY. Just like TeamSat did. XD
Also, Blood Mephist still has the greatest Synchro speech ever. I'm just saying. ♥
and then I watch that giant breakup scene (which has a slightly better translation from the quicksub although Bolger's logic is still insane troll logic... although he really, really, believes it) and I spend my time trying to figure out which one of them is Mark and which one is Eduardo.... except they're both hybrids of each in a really weird and confusing sort of way that makes this parallel not work as well as the ridiculous part of me thinks it does and....

also I will never stop being bothered by the fact that Bolger is surprised by BFD's anti-burn effect. HOW DOES HE NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS? XD
