(no subject)
Monster statue list as they were mentioned/as I noticed them that I could recognize concretely:
Black Magician, Blue Eyes White Dragon, Red Eyes Black Dragon, Neos, Black Magician Girl, Flame Swordsman, Rainbow Dragon, Jinzo, Flame Wingman, Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Cyber Dragon.
Ones I can't quite make out:
On the left I'm pretty sure that's just a distant shot of Rainbow Dragon. On the right that's what appears to be one of Sho's fusion monsters that I can't recall the name of. It's hard to tell with the video quality and the distance though. That wing poking in from the left side of the screen, who knows. Possibly it's Flame Wingman. (actually, wait, no. Judging from the layout of the room later in the episode, the one at the back is Cyber Dragon and the wing belongs to Rainbow Dragon.... why don't I just edit this paragraph properly instead of adding observations after the fact? Shut up, that's why. XD)
There's several miscellaneous dragon and warrior type monsters that I can't get a good enough look at to place. That ninja looking one they showed that was scarred I'm not familiar with although it might be a new one relevant entirely to this set of episodes.
Most importantly: AHAHAHAHAHA STARDUST DRAGON ISN'T LEGENDARY ENOUGH TO COUNT. XD XD XD *points and laughs at Yusei forever* (okay, technically, nothing from 5Ds is apparently legendary enough to count. At least not that I can tell. Maybe one of Yusei's warriors is in there and I just can't tell due to poor video quality. But the lack of SUPER MARTYR DRAGON PEEN is awesome.)
Anyway: 1) Judai would not approve of this talk about Light, Old Man. 2) Didn't we go through this once already with Hell Kaiser Ryo and the Temple of Plot Contrivances? XD (okay, obviously this run through is different since Yuma is clearly going to protect the secret deck from the unworthy (and clearly EVIL) disciple as opposed to how Ryo was the bad seed who just curbstomped on in and took it... I'm still amused XD)
Yuma is totally taking on this whole Judai-esque, "the monsters are my friends and I will protect them FOREVER" thing due to his whole statue duel with the old man. I do not find it irritating though, due to the fact that it's not like he can see duel spirits or anything (seriously, I am hoping against hope that there will be absolutely no one capable of seeing duel spirits or I'm going to put my fist through my monitor or something. I am sick of that shit and I'm pretty sure it's why I rolled my eyes at Ruka so hard.) he's just developed a sort of empathy for them which is kind of adorable.
