oh, hey, I haven't tangented about Warcraft in a week or so.....
Oh hey. Cataclysm Collector's Edition :D :D :D (given that I am currently still kinda all "man, I really should have gotten the Lich King one because OMG that vanity pet that came with it was adorable and GOD I wish I could have the pet from the Burning Crusade one too") Let's go through the contents, shall we?
DVD - don't give a shit. You know, I have never cared about behind the scenes crap in anything. The brother loves it. Games, movies, all of it. I never watch them ever. So, yea. That'll be ignored
Soundtrack CD - I've always been underwhelmed by Warcraft's music. I can't see that changing any time soon. Next.
Artbook - Fun to glance through once but meh.
The expansion disc itself - ...oh, hey, yea. I'll be needing that, won't I? Except not really because just like the last time it will all patch about a month before the release date anyway and the basic content will probably kick into gear a week prior. Really it'll just speed the patching process up if at some point I need to reinstall. Really all I need is the CD key. And in the end this is kinda irrelevant because I'll be buying the expansion anyway. XD
A TCG deck! - .....dude, I already got an asston of YGO cards. Unless they're going to be throwing in some of the ones that have the codes for shiny in-game items (specifically shiny in-game pets) this will totally gather dust on top of the DVD, soundtrack and artbook.
IN GAME PET!!! - ickle Deathwing! OMG he is adorable! ♥ In that totally ugly sort of way like the ickle Onyxia I already have.
Mousepad - Okay, I do need a mousepad. Badly. My Deathadder is probably not working to its full potential...... I wonder if it's a Fragmat. Because those are nice, and I know there are Warcraft ones out there.
Okay, so ultimately we have two things that will get any use if I shell out the extra money for the special edition. Okay, actually just one thing. The vanity pet will actually not be used beyond "I enter the code for it and briefly coo over its existence because ickle Deathwing is so cuuuute and 'oh, hey, I'm one closer to that 75 pet achievement'..... which by the time Cata comes out I should already have gotten anyway." And those two things are still almost tempting enough to preorder it. I honestly don't know. Not that it's up for preorder yet anyway.
