I am really (kinda entirely at random) super hugely craving adorable and sexy Crow/Aki fic. (okay, absolute truth, there is still a massive part of me wanting fic involving Crow and Aki running away together to live with Kiryu in Crash Town forever and ever. Raising pet orphans and sneaking in lots of sex whenever they can grab an alone moment. ( Read more... )

Aki is tired.

Tired of going to school and participating in exercises that have no challenge for her anymore, dealing with students who whisper in the halls either about her participation in the WRGP despite her being new to Riding Duels and calling her either a genius or a cheater.

Tired of continually going home and dealing with the same things over and over-as much as she was grateful for her parents' love and affection and would never wish for its removal, home was bland and uninteresting and relatively normal-and as much as she knew she wasn't the Witch anymore, she wasn't normal.

Tired of visiting the workshop and feeling as if her friendships weren't going to go any further than they had-Yuusei was oblivious to everything, Jack was always off somewhere, Crow was getting more and more strained from his workload, and the twins were little children who she treated as a sister and brother, and as much as she liked them, there were some things she just couldn't tell them because of that.

So when she comes with the others to that town Yuusei had skedaddled off to without a word so many months ago, she's rather impressed with it's simplicity and yet that hint of wildness in it, a town in the desert where the daily life was somewhat more busier and yet more quaint than the city life.

And when Crow announces that he's going off to visit, she requests if she can come as well, as she's off from school for the break and needs something to do.

He looks at her and then shrugs-doesn't seem to care much and doesn't seem to mind, so she goes.

The town is as quaint as it appears to be-but with Kiryuu as the local sheriff, there's certainly something interesting hiding somewhere-and in this place, it's the intersection behind the Classy Ass, where they still have the local Duel Time-but instead just friendly wagers and gambling instead of a life of servitude in the hellish mountain (where now, Kiryuu's established a mining company of sorts where many work in regular shifts, rotating between inspector and miner and stay on equal terms).

Crow takes up a room above the Classy Ass bar where he offers repair services for broken mechanics (he's learned enough from Pearson to do his own work) and actually does get a small business going. Aki works below him at the bar, ruling the night with a gentle voice and a firm hand (or whip, if things really do get rowdy).

Both take turns watching the two orphans that Kiryuu has under his wing whenever Kiryuu's off doing whatever people need him with (which admittedly isn't often, people aren't desperate to return to the old times of chaos and fear; and the town is rebuilt, more or less). Often Aki and Crow help Kiryuu teach the two how to duel-sometimes they duel each other in showcase duels, which often ends up with Crow being strung up with vines of some sort at some point during the duel.

(And when this happens, it's a sign that something else will happen if Aki manages to get away from the bar early that night.)
