Rudi hates to go home with his left ear bleeding and his right eye closed. His mother always told him to have good hygiene. She was always bantering about cleaning his ears. That morning when Rudi went to school, it was quiet and serene with a beautiful crystalline sky. Rudi loved the beauty of such mornings but he could not enjoy it. He woke up with an acute headache in the back of his head. The day progressed and still Rudi could not shake away the pain. As Rudi walked home from school there was a pop that sounded in his head. His ear began to twitch and expanded. Then slowly out of his ear a yellowish green sprout. It grew and grew into a full grown flower. Rudi's ear was covered with blood. The blood began flowing from his ear in great clumps. The growing of the plant, a yellow daffodil was so excruciating that his right eye closed to ease the pain. The daffodil's roots seemed to be right behind his eyeball. It was a good day for a yellow daffodil.
