Kyuhyun didn’t do anything as he watched Joonmyun kill himself, he was numb to the pain. Numb to everything. He didn’t break down and cry. He just couldn’t. He stayed in Siwon’s arms as the taller man held him close, even when his legs betrayed him, Siwon kept him standing.
Kyuhyun smiled a watery smile as he watched Joonmyun lay down next to Kris. The prophecy was finally complete. Joonmyun had met his fate. “It’s finally over” Kyuhyun said, clutching onto Siwon. Siwon nodded. It was finally over.
Kyuhyun straightened up and looked over to where the two gods were standing. “Tell father that we have won.” Kyuhyun said monotonously.
He walked over to where Joonmyun and Kris lay, both having sacrificed themselves for the greater good, to stop the destruction. Kyuhyun stroked Joonmyun’s hair as tears fell. Siwon was beside him, giving him strength. “I need a shroud, a shroud for the son of Hades and the son of Zeus. NOW!” Kyuhyun yelled, directing the order to the army of shadows he had commanded only minutes ago.
“Father..” Kyuhyun whispered as Hades appeared before him. The god sat next to him, his son in his arms. “You did well Joonmyun. You did well” Hades said. Tears were leaving his eyes and that was a rare sight, for a god to cry.
Hades turned to Siwon. “Take care of Kyuhyun, he’s all I have left. Please.”
Siwon nodded and in turned picked up Kyuhyun who was silently crying. “I will”
Siwon couldn’t break down while looking down on Kris’ body. He couldn’t because he had to be strong for Kyuhyun. Siwon didn’t need Kyuhyun to see him cry, he would cry later when this whole mess had been sorted out and when he could just create a bubble underwater and let out his emotions.
Siwon gave Kyuhyun a chaste kiss to try and calm down his crying and sobbing lover. Kyuhyun’s sobbing slowly receded to hiccups as he looked at his father with teary eyes. “Take of Joonmyun please?” Kyuhyun asked hesitantly, unsure if it was in his place to request something from a god even though said god was his father.
Hades looked up with teary eyes, Joonmyun’s body still in his hands “I will”. Hades himself took Joonmyun’s body while the fates took Kris’.
“I want to go home.” Kyuhyun said as he held Siwon closer than ever before. “Then let’s” Siwon answered.
That night Kyuhyun slept in Siwon’s arms after months being apart from the man he loved. Kyuhyun slept off the emotional and physical exhaustion he had endured and Siwon the same in each others arms, offering silent comfort to each other. It calmed them knowing that when they woke up they’d be together as one once again.
They made their way into camp later that day , to find that repairs were already underway. The roofs of the damaged cabins were being fixed, the wounded were being healed and the dead were being put to rest.
They were rebuilding all that had been damaged and putting to right all that had been wronged. Most importantly though was that there stood a plague and the pictures of both Joonmyun and Kris proclaimed as heroes in Chiron’s wall. There they would serve as reminders of the sacrifices that they made to continue the legacy of the gods even though it was at the price of their lives.
Kyuhyun had wanted to help with the repairs instead Chiron had sent him away, Chiron had sent him to the Canoe lake where Siwon was waiting for him with picnic basket. Kyuhyun had protested loudly claiming that they should be helping instead of relaxing. All Siwon did was give him a kiss and they pushed him into a canoe with the picnic basket before setting off. Kyuhyun blushed the whole way through the trip, refusing to help Siwon row as retaliation for kissing him in public.
They came to a stop in a glade where there was an abundance of flowers and a small hut at its edge. “Our retreat” Siwon murmured as he wrapped his hands around Kyuhyun who was staring at awe around him. At that moment Kyunhyun’s pegasus decided to make an appearance. “Jonghyun” Kyuhyun said as he walked up to his beloved winged horse and rubbed his nose. “Thank You for taking care of Siwon” Jonghyun nickered softly and took off leaving Kyuhyun once again with Siwon.
“I love you so much” Siwon said as he trailed kisses up Kyuhyun’s nape. Kyuhyun leaned into the taller male as Siwon continued to caress and kiss him. Kyuhyun didn’t protest or push his lover away as their clothes were stripped. Kyuhyun had moaned wantonly when Siwon entered him. “I love you” Kyuhyun gasped as he came tightening around Siwon and bringing his lover over the edge as well.
Siwon sent Kyuhyun a charming smile as he walked over to where their basket of food lay, bring out some strawberries and a blanket. He leaned himself against a tree and brought Kyuhyun in between his legs, pressing their naked flesh together. He fed Kyuhyun the strawberries and kissed him in between. Kyuhyun hummed contentedly as he felt his eyes closing. “Never let go” Kyuhyun said softly as he closed his eyes as sleep had already taken hold of him. “Never will” Siwon whispered kissing the crown of the already sleeping Kyuhyun’s head. Siwon held Kyuhyun tightly in his arms as he too fell asleep, the blanket keeping them covered from the elements and prying eyes.
Jonghyun flew above them circling the glade and making sure nothing disturbed the sleeping couple.
All was well as it should be. Everyone was recovering and they were at peace once again. They would rebuild what was broken and replace what was lost because after all they were children of gods and nothing could defeat them.

He looked over at Siwon and winked. “Up for Swim?” Kyuhyun couldn’t contain the yelp that escaped when Siwon whisked him off to the sea, where he jumped in taking Kyuhyun along.
Siwon came back up with Kyuhyun clutching on tightly to him. “Siwo-mmph” Kyuhyun was cut off halfway by Siwon silencing him with his lips. “I love you” Siwon suddenly declared. “I haven’t told you that enough”
Kyuhyun sent him a dazzling smile. “I love you too”
