So Animazement last weekend was a lot of fun! There were little bits of stress and drama here and there, but such is life. The good outweighed the bad a hundred times over.
It was a really laid-back con for me. I wasn't running around and getting much done, just chilling in my costumes, singing karaoke, and chatting with my buddies, though I did go to one event to get Chiho Saito's autograph and to tell her how wonderful she is. ♥ I finally got to meet some cosplayer people who before now had only existed in myth and legend. Roomed with a few of them too. And now that I know that they live withing an hour or two from me, I hope I'll be seeing more of them in the future. :D (At least for the next month and a half-ish, before I leave for Japan)
I didn't take very many pictures of cosplay aside from the Kuroshitsuji group, but I did expand the number of people who have worn my "Green Monstrosity" to 20 or so. XD All of those latter pics are on
my facebook. Amazingly, there was one guy at the con who, though he didn't recognize the character, he did recognize the hat and the shiny green shirt. This dude and his girlfriend were on my flight to CA for Yaoicon in October, and we'd had a nice chat in the airport before takeoff! We would never have recognized each other if not for gay clubbing tennis players! XDDD
There's been some interesting stuff going on in the aftermath of the con too.
"Subject: So this is gonna be weird
So... we met at the con VERY briefly while I was taking group photo of a cosplayer friend. I saw you again in someone else's album and that's how I got to your FB page. (I know this seems strange but I'm not making a pass at you so please keep reading)
I'm a professional illustrator. I often do pinups portraits of varying styles. Here are two links to my most recent pinups.

I don't normally do this but if you're interested I think you'd make a fantasticly stunning person to capture as a pinup. I normally charge very high amounts but if you're interested in I'd be willing to do it at an insanely low cost... like you'd basically just be paying a little more than the cost of printing the finished image. I never do this but I really loved your outfit and you had a wonderful energy to you. (And I have no projects happening right now so I can afford to be charitable)
I'll stop rambling now. Let me know if it's something you'd be into. :-) I hope the rest of your weekend was at least half as entertaining as mine."
Yeah, I'm not quite sure what to think about that or how to respond. XD;;;
BUT NOW FOR MY MOST EXCITING NEWS!! PAULA FLIES IN TOMORROW TO VISIT ME FOR A WEEK!! You can rest assured that there will be a lot of cosplay and fangirling over Japanese pretty boys. CAN'T WAIT!
