I don't know where life, with work and everything else, is going take me, and I won't until I start living it out. Thankfully, I'm okay with that whole not knowing bit. I'll start with Japan and then maybe Tokyo and just keep doing the things that I like to do, in whatever ways my paths in life allow. :3

This is gonna sound like a crappy sales pitch, but okay. ^^; The entire atmosphere of Hakone is very calming to me. I took two separate day trips to Yunessun, one of the more commercialized onsens, while I was staying in Tokyo, because the Odakyu line had a good travel package, and after going once, I really wanted to go again. I always felt so relaxed and revitalized, both body and spirit, after going there. I never got to go to Nagano, so I can't tell you how the two compare, but Hakone is built into the mountains and has that sweet small-town feel, with the way it's spread out. Kinda reminds me of back home, where I live when not at school. It's obvious that most of the money made there comes from tourists, but that's because every other building you pass is an onsen. They all look so homey, and the view around the mountains is absolutely gorgeous, the air is fresh, not to mention that the natural hot springs and the public baths feel fantastic. If only Americans weren't so prudish, so we could have nice things like that. xP

You're welcome! I'm glad that my words seem appropriate. I look forward to reading what you have to say about them. :D

Ohh, Hakone sounds so nice from the way you describe it! Lonely Planet seems quite derisive of Hakone (they are derisive about ANY touristy places though, those pretentious hippies), but I knew that there must be a reason that it's such a popular destinaton for local tourists. I'm definitely going to Hakone then :) By the way, next time you go to Japan, it's worth checking out japanican.com, it's got some pretty good day trips etc :)
