Last night I went to my first night school class of my
Intro To Digital Imaging/Photoshop. I must say it was fascinating. I came away feeling like I really learned something (with deference to my past instructors at
Tomahawk Tech whom I learned something from over all but it was more of a cumulative arc). I can say for certain if it’s going to continue at this pace I may be a graphic designer by the end of it all… ok so a guy can dream right? I appreciate the curriculum layout the only concerns I have are that I am eager to learn the latest Photoshop and this instructor is still using Version 7 (CS5 would be equivalent to version 12), he a Mac guy and while I don’t have a problem with that he’s a zealous Mac guy… you know the type that thinks that Mac are the be all and end all to computing and that anything else is well just the gum on the soles of it’s shoes. I’m getting very used to this in visual arts. I mean the first instructor I had gently sneered at Canon (he shot Olympus) and the 2nd instructor (who shot Nikon) out and out SLAMMED the manufacturer (the 2nd instructor actually had me in despair until I remembered WHY I chose Canon).
**EDIT** I posted this last week but tagged it as (PRIVATE) in error. Meh. So last night I went to the 2nd class. Seems I am a GENIUS (not to be confused with Willie Coyote SUPER Genius) as I pick up the assignments he has us doing RIGHT away. Others welll I think some people would benefit from a basic computer class first. I think I'm going to take some time in the next few days to develop a list of features I want to master.
Cheers
