Mmmmmm...so today I went to NYC with two of the future roomates...i guess one of them is current, but neither of them read this so it really doesnt matter. Yeah so I get to the train station and cant find any parks. By the time I figure out how parkign works, I missed my train. So i part and whatnot, and to make a long story short I got to new york. After walking around for a little I met my friend by the delicious Krispy Kreme of Penn Station. Oh there was an old guy in a suit in the newsstand just leafing through a hardcore pr0n mag. I thought it was kinda funny.
So we wanter around toward Times Square. We went into the Toys 'R Us. Now, to most people this wouldnt be too amazing an experience, but as a former Toys 'R Us employee (and hopefully a future one again...), this was like goign to Mecca but without the tramplings. The ferris wheel is amazing. the 'R Zone is huge (the video game section for the uninitiated), and theres all kinds of lego things and stuff. PLUS they get to wear dark blue shirts. Everyone else has to wear red shirts (after they switched from light blue shirts..i still have mine...and managers wear black shirts). So after that we hit up the Virgin Megastore. I found a some Matt Pond PA cds that i wanted...but I have them on mp3 so im not too keen on spending $13 on them. Also there was a Decemberists cd...im gonna have to redownload them soon. THen I went and looked at the books and was caught up in the drug-related book corner. Pretty nifty shit.
Now for the amazing stuff. Following this, we made our way to none other than........
The Soup Nazi. Yes, we visited the soup nazi. www.therealsoupman.com As would be expected there was a line. Only one of us got soup, seeing as small soups were $7 or $11, and as he was ordering it he got yelled at to move over more. It was amazing. I had a taste of this fine soup and I must say, this man truly is an artist. It was the greatest chicken and vegetable I've ever had the pleasure of tasting.
Now we went uptown to Tom's Restaurant, which is the diner behind the senfeld diner. The outside looks exactly the same with the but neon "Restaurant" sign on a blue background.
Then we went downtown to the village and walked around.
Oh and at some point we went to the Plaze and walked around the lobby...god we looked so out of place...there was a menu for 4 o clock tea and it was like $35 for tea and some scrumpets or something...amazing. When I win powerball I will treat all my loyal livejournal readers to a night at the plaza hotel complete with cheap vodka.
Then we went back uptown to eat the Tom's Restaurant. THe service was simply amazing. I got a breaded pork chop, and it was out in a matter of 7 minutes. after I ordered i went to the bathroom and by the time I was back my coup and salad awaited me. Amazing.
Then we went back.
Now I'm here typing this. Hooray.
I think I'm gonna drink later on just for the hell of it and because I have a drinking problem. excellent.
Enjoy your day.
