WOW!!!!
I'm only four days into working @ Blantyre pool. It's really great because I've been lifeguarding for 5 years and it means a lot to me. I've been teaching a Bronze Medallion class since monday. I know a lot of stuff and I am very knowledgeable...
HERES WHAT I KNOW ABOUT EVERYTHING:
Asthma, Diabetes, Stroke, TIA, Heart Attack, Angina, DNS, Weak Swimmers, Secondary Drowning, Ontario's Good Semaritan Act, Adult Infant and Child CPR, AR, Choking Conscious and Unconscious, Spinal injuries on land, in the water, and roll overs, Shock, Secondary Assessments, Assists, Releases, Defences, Calling 911, Aquatic Areas, Beach areas, Gases, External Bleeding: large and small, cut arteies, internal bleeding, head trauma, both kinds fractures, brakes, Seizure, Controlled Carries, Reverse and Ready, Assists,
AND the rules, signs, symptoms, follow-up, and treatment of each.
I also run their fitness tests.
I'd teach anybody who asked me in all honesty... in 5 years I've had to handle some fun stuff some of those I've listed above but I really know a lot more because lifeguards have to deal with about 3 times as many things. I'm going to become qualified as a manager this year so I can run the pool and keep a tight ship.
I love my job.
I have horrible tan lines, the sun gets to be super easy fast and I have work every day~
Tomorrow I'm burning 2 copies of Sex and the City Season 1, I just love that show... elaines coming by after my work ends and spending the 3 hours to do it before we go out and get super smashed ( in all hopes )
FUCKING EH!
