Who's getting paid to take photos at fashion week this year? I am!
Ok, so it's for my aunt's company, but it's my first official freelance job (everything else has been volunteer/for the portfolio) and knowing that I have this is making me feel excited again about working in photography.
So is it cheating to get a leg up from your relatives? I know, I know, the art world is all about abusing your connections, etc, I just don't ever want anyone to say that I didn't earn this.
I bought the gloriously thick issue of Harper's Bazaar today, and I felt nearly delirious as I stroked the glossy pages. I could do this! I've been taking pictures of pretty girls in grungy locations for years!
You guys, I'm an artist! No longer a photo major, but a photographer.
I am feeling pretty confident right now that life will work out.
