Well...hmmm, I could lend you mine, but I have no way of getting it to you as I will not be here this weekend ><;; Plus, it's kinda small...ish. Might not fit some of your paintings.
I don't think Mrs. Caston would offer to lend you her portfolio case if she didn't want to do it in the first place. In worse case scenerio, use a garbage bag to carry your paintings, separate the drawings with foamboard (you can get some at Curry's). I didn't use my portfolio case because my stuff was too big for it.
Actually, despite what you tell yourself, you're really good at illustration stuff. I've seen some of what the illus people do and you're just as good skill-wise, IMO =)
As for applying to the wrong thing, I don't think they care that much. One of my friends applied for Drawing/Painting, and when she had her interview the lady looked at her stuff and was like "Your stuff is much more illustration. Why didn't you apply to that instead?" right? and she still got in. They expect you to switch majors. If you make it clear to them that you're not sure what you'd like to focus on so you applied to your area of interest and general expertise and are totally open to switching, I think that would help your interview.
But Nina, if you keep telling yourself you're not going to get accepted, it's going to be very difficult to have a successful interview. I KNOW you're really nervous about this, I was totally in the same boat as you last year, but try not to be so negative about it ^^; If there's anything I've learned this year, it's that there are times when you've gotta put the cynicism aside and just hope for the best, even when the outcome might not be the greatest (which is quite a lesson considering how negative I am...constantly, lol).
Anyway, I'm done lecturing you sorry XD;; I just don't want to see you sell yourself short. Try to at least have a bit of faith in yourself. *hugglesquish* ♥
And regardless of how your interview goes, we'll go and have bubble tea/lunch after. I haven't spent time with you in forever and I feel distanced ;o;~ So we need to do some catching up.
