sleeping with ghosts

I had a fun weekend. And! I got Rika's new eyes! They're a really nice, although rather unnatural green. And some cute little shoes. I have to clean him up first, there's a lot of charcoal stuff on him from when I was moving him around my room later, but I might post pictures then ( Read more... )

I keep screwing up the links, sorry :<

Whoops, my links went haywire the first time. *posts again*

Yeah, they're pretty pricey :< It's an expensive hobby, but so much love. The general price range I've seen is about 300-500 for an MSD and about 550+ for an SD. SDs can get hella expensive if they're limited editions ^^;

Hmm, well, my first doll (Rika) was from Dream of Doll, it's a Korean company and the dolls are all really pretty and good prices. They take a long time to ship though, lately I've been having problems with their shipping delays (I ordered a wig from there on November 22 and they STILL haven't shipped it yet), and a few people I know have too.

I got a full-set which came with wig, makeup, eyes, and clothing (hat, shirt, vest, and pants) and it came to 420$ with shipping, US (so around 500 CAN). If you only get the doll, minus wig and clothing, it's a lot less. Even less if you don't get makeup (which is when they add colour to the face like blush, eyebrows and such so the doll looks more natural)

If you do check it out, the one I got was the Wi[F] ^_^ His makeup has changed though, and I've bought him a different wig and all that.

I bought my second doll from LUTS. It came to $425 CAN (300-something US). I got the DELF kid Jeong, if you're curious. I only bought the actual doll and makeup option though. I had to make clothing myself and buy the wig separately, though she does come with eyes. LUTS has good prices too.

If you want to compare, this is a good site, it lists all the different companies.

I am in a huge rambly mood tonight o_O sorry.

I know v_v man, I have blown SO much money on these guys but for me it was worth it. If it's expensive for you, you can always save up, I had to do that for Rika...took me a long time to get him, but when I did it was great!

XDDD It's ok lol and thanks alot for the sites =D!! I would have to save up ALOT of money for those o__o and my mom would probably scream at me for a doll that expensive =__=. It must have taken you a hell long time to save up that much money o____o|||

Too bad you can't go to Anime North o__o I heard there is just a workshop well a gathering for people with SD. You must to have a SD to go in there...another option would be dress up as gothic lolita to enter there XD! I might just do that take a peek at the workshop =P It would be so cool if you bring it XDDD~! Never seen one up close before =3.

Well, I had a good summer job that helped me save up so it didn't take me too long, but I had to WAIT a long time until I could get a job. =3 If you think about it, it's like...3 paychecks, more or less (depending on your job and pay). My second doll was bought with Christmas money I got from my parents and relatives.

My parents were like "WTF" about the doll thing at first. But they were like "ugh, spend your money on whatever you want I guess" and yeah...now they're okay with it because they can see I really like it ^_^;; But still even...they think the amount of money I spend on them is ridiculous XD

If I can afford to, I might come on Saturday and bring Rika and Indigo (my girl doll), and if I do you can see them and stuff. It'll be fun ^^ I'm not sure if I'll go to the SD gathering because I'm extremely shy, but I'll bring them for sure =3
