Beside death, poem

Nov 25, 2007 17:01

There is desperation in her eyes
when she tells me she's not ready for goodbye
Heaven can wait
she's not ready for the open gates

Palest I've seen in years
she whispers in my ear;
shed no tears
I will leave when I'm ready
for I am still a child
ready for nothing in life nor death

Hollow eyes
life draining slowly
the glimmer of hope slowly fading
the strength of her body disappearing quickly
Stay with me- I plead into her weak hand
Eyes looked at me dully
I give no promises
