favorite will ferrell movies

Oh Will Ferrell.  You make me laugh. And laugh and laugh and laugh.  That's why I've created a favorite movies featuring Will Ferrell list!

5. Old School (Frank Ricard)
"We're going streaking!"

What's not to love about a movie where a bunch of middle-aged guys want to relive their college years?  Will as Frank was fun to watch as he tried to be a grown-up & a responsible husband, yet he just can't resist the urgings of his friends to become Frank the Tank, the party animal.

4. Kicking & Screaming (Phil Weston)
"Well, maybe you and Ambrose can team up - he's big and you might form one megaperson."

Will actually plays an almost normal guy in this movie.  Which might explain why it didn't do as well in theaters.  But I loved this movie because it was a movie about underdogs.  And Will got to act with kids (and Kate Walsh!).  It was cute and sweet.  And I loved the scenes with Phil discovering coffee and getting all hopped up on it.

3. Elf (Buddy)
[reacting to sign saying "World's Best Cup of Coffee"]
"You did it! Congratulations! World's best cup of coffee! Great job, everybody! It's great to be here."

This movie was so cute.  Probably the cutest Will Ferrell movie.  I mean, c'mon!  Will Ferrell was playing a  elf!  He was great at playing a naive, young at heart guy that just wants to get to know his dad.  Zooey being in this movie was an added bonus.  I love watching this movie every Christmas.  It makes me feel all warm & fuzzy.

2. Anchorman (Ron Burgundy)
"I'm in a glass case of emotion!"

When I first saw Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy, I actually thought it was going to be too much, and I didn't think I would like this character.  But when I actually watched Anchorman, it was nonstop laughs.  It was so ridiculous, it was good!  Even though I've seen this movie several times, I feel like every time I watch it, I pick up on a new joke.

1. Zoolander (Mugatu)
"I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!"

I debated which should be #1, Zoolander or Anchorman.  Will had a bigger part in Anchorman, but I had to give the #1 spot to Zoolander because not only is it one of my favorite comedies, Will's Mugatu was crucial to the hilariousness of this movie.  From his silly white curly hair to his crazy outbursts, Will perfectly embodied Mugatu.

Random fact: I remember hearing somewhere that Mugatu's hair was all Will's.  Like he actually dyed his hair and styled it that way for the movie.  I think it was something about them wanting it to look authentic and they didn't think a wig would work.  Later, when they had to do some reshoots, they did end up using a wig, and they realized it actually looked okay with the wig and all the work they did on the hair probably wasn't necessary.  They had a good laugh about it.

Honorable Mention
A Night At The Roxbury (Steve Butabi)
What is love? Baby don't hurt me. Don't hurt me, no more.  How can you hear that song and not think of "A Night at the Roxbury"?  I wasn't really interested in this movie when it first came out, but now I find it absolutely hilarious.  Me? You? Me? Oh him? The nose rubbing.  The crazy girl sandwich dancing. All hilarious to me now.

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (Ricky Bobby)
Will Ferrell made Nascar fun to watch.

Blades of Glory (Chazz Michael Michaels)
Will Ferrell made figure skating even more hilariously fun to watch than it already was.  Plus, you can never get enough of his bare hairy chest.  Hotness.
