Taking Tiger Mountain (by strategy)

Just as junior Kentucky Senator Jim Bunning cautioned a Paducah reporter, explaining the reason for his bodyguards on a visit to a Quilter's Museum, "There may be strangers among us!", I have had a feeling of foreboding today. Somehow, without the threat of immediate deadlines, I am unable to do anything. One of my college application essay rough drafts is made up of fragments because I didn't feel motivated enough to put in verbs, or to connect my ideas. I haven't really accomplished anything this week, besides one essay. I still have to finish ten pages of sketches for art class, tentatively titled "How the Water Cycle Changes Us Every Day...". Somehow, yesterday, I also got sidetracked writing another part of the overarchingly titled collection of stories called "The Water Cycle". (In this vignette, a recently-minted college graduate returns to his former high school to teach history, becomes obsessed with one of his classes to the detriment of the others, and grows embroiled in attempts to remain cool, resulting in difficult choices). Unfortunately, no matter how you look at it, the water cycle never really ends, so making any satisfying progress is difficult.
