Well, ok. I dont know you, but Im willing to debate on this. Plastics were a recently invented material. With the invention of this really cheap material came the idea that things are disposable, and non-valuable, so buy as much as you can/want, use it whenever you want, and then throw it away because why bother saving it? it's not worth your time.

My argument is that if you think before you use this stuff (plastic wrap, paper towels, etc.) you can find ways of getting around using it every time, and eventually even eliminate it. Or conversely, if you just dont have that stuff, you will find a way around using it. Saran wrap, around everything? well, when you put a bowl in the refrigerator, cover it with a plate. That works really really well. still use saran wrap around cakes/pastries? get a nice dome-platter thingamajigy. elimininated saran wrap, but can't get away from putting tin-foil over everything that goes into the oven? start not putting it on top of the things that really don't need that. get so many plastic bags at the grocery store you just have to throw them away, because you cant store them all? ask for no bag when you get just one or two items, and then 4 items, then 8. Shipping something? use your old newspaper, already in the paper recycling, instead of buying styrofoam peanuts, or save the ones from the box you received in the mail early and use those.

lastly, i am respond to a quote of yours with a quote of mine:
Getting people to abandon paper towel use altogether is unrealistic. Make a case for people to use less of them and you might be able to start a change.
Please, when you buy things, consider what you will be using it for, and how many times you will use it.

Note the use of "consider" not "don't buy it"
