(no subject)
today's topic is optimism.
as of late, some interesting things have happened. be it my cheap but decent new ride or the confidence i found in myself a few days ago, some things are starting to surprise me.
my car, thoguh it has some minor flaws, was technically a steal at its price. the amount of money i had to spend wasnt going to get me anything too great but this car, while it needs some improvements, has more than i expected. just gotta fix a few things and get some new speakers and im set.
transfering to a new school can be an intimidating thing, especially when the new school is about 3 times the size of your old one. but, thankfully, i pushed that all aside and have been my general open self. of course, its easier when there are others who are as open as you but sometime you have to take the initiative and get everyone else relaxed enough to talk. in 2 of the classes i actually attend, this is the case; people are generally open and and ive put myself in that group and have been trying to make new friends. obviously it wont be as easy as RIT where a few parties and orientation week, coupled with some mutual friends, made for a lot of relationships. no, this time around its going to be about making friendships in class and hoping that they develop into something outside the classroom.
now, i took a big leap in one situation recently that was somewhat out of my usual realm. i ended up taking a big intiative, and at the risk of looking like an idiot, gave this girl my number just on a whim and told her to give me a call. yeah, like i said, kinda risky but i think its gone well so far seeing as i got a short phone call from her the other night. dont know if it was from her cell or what cuz the number never came up but hey its all good.
but all in all, im optimistic about these things. im optimistic that, with a little work and moolah, my car will be where i want it to be. and im optimistic that things go well with this girl though, like usual, i wont get my hopes up too high as to not disappoint myself.
