new chapter of Arslan hasn't coming up yet, so update on several others:
Liar Game = Yokoyaaaa, how dare you separate my OTPPPPPPPPP! death to him! death to him! I wonder if the situation is really under Yokoya's control or Akiyama has somehow prepared for this (as every others end of arc revelation, uh reveal to be). Thinking logically, if Akiyama wants to be the winner of the Liar's game (and shouldering the debt), then it might be a logical choice that Nao is on the reverse of whatever side he choose is.
But then again, it means whatever happens to Nao, also will happen to Yokoya. And I didn't want him to get scott free. And he's in the black more than Nao is, so even though his team losing and shouldering a crushing debt, that means whatever happens to Yokoya, Nao will also get it worse. Unless we can pinned the crushing debt only to one person and not a team (there are instances that this can happen, like in cross-bordering game)
7 seeds = well, at least, every group now will be gathering in 1 place (albeit the place seems like a huge death-illusioning-trap of a kind). Still better than scattering everywhere I think; also glad that Natsu seems already can get over her feelings for Arashi.
Elhaburg's Angel = I read the mangaka's previous work (Aruosumente, is this correct spelling?). It's like, well, walking in the fog. I think. In Elhanburg, we're shown many, but explained a little. And that's where I like to reread chapters again and exploring on my own - while further chapters will later reveals if what I thought is correct or just having big imagination.
For one, I think this is the Emo vs Idiot. Emo is Lalvan who thinks he's definitely better rather than his friend, but all the other aspect (human, natures, and the like) thinks his Idiot friend is better. He gets crowned as King, gets many girls chasing after him, and so on. Why not Lalvan who gets them all? (answer is = who knows? probably because he's emo and arrogant for feeling better). On the other side, Madeth quite knows that his friend is smarter than him (for starter, he can read and write letters on his behalf), probably have jealousy over his luck, but trying to ignore all the rift and the distance that his friend tried to place, so they can stay as friend.
We're given 3 chapters from Lalvan, and 1 chapter from Madeth's POV, and I feel that even though Madeth is an idiot, he's making effort to keeping the friendship. You can kinda see all the deck stacked against him. He's a king, but very well know that he's not have kingly intelligence nor attitude for it. Even when he suspect that his best friend is the one that impregnated his wife, he goes to directly confronted him about it personally (well, kind of shuffling and fidgeting, and nervously averting gaze a bit) instead acting highty-and-mighty and just order soldier to behead him or pulling a secret assassination. Lalvan might acting EMO because his friend DARE to not TRUST HIM NAO, with HIS BEING A ULTRA POSITION KINGY AND ALL, but if you pause and consider on Madeth side, it goes on like this:
1. He saw his smarter-than-me friend whom he know very well, liking smart girls and his wife get all chummy in the courtyard
2. Wife might let out that she likes intelligent people (from what we've seen from Prima, she's not a really your pure-and-demure princess; if she hates being stuck with idiot (barely can read) king, that might seeped in her attitude).
3. There might be whispering around the castle between 1&2 factors above.
Madeth can go over the tyranny course, and set fire to Prima and her child (oops spoiler for another series) but he still choose to ask that friend if he betrays him. And then said friend throwing EMO-ness festival and chose to leaving him to deal with his wife-that-giving-birth-to-child-that-may-or-may-not-be-yours-but-definitely-not-mine and all the kingdom's troubles, because he don't feel he should be friend with a king anymore.
BTW, it might just me, but I think Perseus resembles Madeth. Unlike Madeth, though, this child is intelligent (he might got it from his mother's side). And he can sees the angel that so far, only his best friend can see. So if he got doubt, well..........it's rather understandable. Don't know it's coincidence or not, but he's showing up when the little prince came back home though (and little Perseus-chan just blurted out that he's just went to see his rumored-real-father-to-be; uh kid, it's might not be good to mention this in front of your father....what's your father supposed to react on his very-much-suspected-to-be-the-scandalous-child-from-my-wife-and-my-best-friend and seemingly wanted to be it to be true that blurted out that he just met-that-once-a-best-friend? giving him thumb up? I don't think so. But then again, Perseus might be not realize on how much thin ice he treading there, or does he? the fact that Perseus is wildly rumored to be Lalvan's child to the extent that soldiers even know, quite showing how much gossips spreads in the castle).
ah well, will we have a flashback in the next issue? Also, Lalvan, stop being EMO if you really care for your friend (I don't know about Madeth's situation after Lalvan departs, but I figured a barely literate King will fare well in politics. For one, Prima and the others might view him inferior - which yes, something that enforce what Lalvan did actually, it's no wonder he feels insecure even though he's king).
