vivalahyuk Ime's Note: First time writing drabble series and I think I like it very much. In this style I can skip unnecessary things between scenes and can get straight to the point so it’s (kind of) easier and faster. And for you guys who abhorred heavy angst, this fic will be a little sad in the middle but will end happily. And from chapter to chapter I didn’t keep the time flow, it just a little bit jumpy back and forth.
I know i shouldnt attempt on other chapter-ed fic when i cant consistent on the other fic. but well... i can't help it :">
And i really hope you like this :)
-First thing
“I’m so sorry,” Jessica said softly. Mostly in apologizing tone, “This wont work. Us won’t work.”
Donghae saw this coming. He even wondered why she only said it now.
It’s not because Donghae didn’t love her anymore, but he also agreed, that their relationship would never work like how it used to be.
He saw sadness on Jessica’s eyes when he agreed without second thought. The fact is, Donghae have been thinking about this over and over again before even she said it out loud. She just didn’t know that Donghae knew what she has been up to.
And now she hesitated about her own decision. She kept looking back at him when she walked out the empty classroom, leaving Donghae alone.
“Are you okay?” Heechul asked. He felt like it’s not the time to bitching around when the cheerful Donghae replaced by the quite one.
“No, I’m not,” Donghae said honestly, because he never tell lie to this hyung.
Heechul just sighed, this was not his stuff and never will be, so he just reached out the younger and patted his back, hopefully, reassuringly. “You’ll get someone better,”
“Yeah,” Donghae said absentmindedly.
In the time when the news about him and Jessica spread to entire school, which was about hours later, he was stabbing his chopsticks to his food in the cafeteria, irritated by the curious stares that have been given to him the entire lunch time.
Days later, not much different.
Kyuhyun sighed and said, “Go get girlfriend,”
Donghae looked up from his (messy) lunch and raise his eyebrows.
“New girlfriend=stop sulking?” Kyu rolled his eyes.
“Yeah,” Donghae said, actually thinking over the idea, “Sure,”
But Donghae not really sure. He still couldn’t take his eyes off from Jessica every times the girl is in vicinity. Or also the thought about her.
He might be pathetic. Donghae reminded himself that this was not only Jessica’s decision, but he was also taking part of their separation by agreed on it.
Donghae sighed. He had to hurry because Kyu and Heechul had been waiting for him, so he put on his clean shirt and stuffed his belonging to his bag and walked out of the stall.
That was when he saw Hyukjae, taking off his soccer shirt, apparently just about to take shower.
Hyukjae still obvious to Donghae’s stare until he faced him and saw Donghae bore a hole on his head. Hyukjae stared back with blank expression and a few moments later Donghae surprised him with unexpected question.
“How about going out with me?”
-Second thing
A day after their encounter on soccer club bathroom, Donghae and Hyukjae acted normally like themselves.
Childish, cheerful, dork Donghae (which not entirely back) and cold, gentle, cool Hyukjae.
It’s about ten minutes to lunch when Hyukjae suddenly got up from his seat with his bunch of friends and walked over to Donghae’s and his bunch of friends seat. Not waiting for any invitation, he took the empty seat beside Donghae.
Heechul had to look up twice on Hyukjae, just to make sure he’s not imagining things. Kyu even distracted from his game to look up also. And Donghae not much different.
“Err… what are you doing?” Donghae asked, purely confused.
Hyukjae stopped half way from picking his chopsticks and looked to his side, to Donghae.
“Eating,” as the matter of fact.
“Yeah, I can see that, but why here? That seat was occupied,” Heechul said, somewhat irritated, just because he never like Hyukjae even from the very moment he first saw him.
“I thought it’s normal thing to do,” Hyukjae said, tied his eyebrows in confusion and at the same time demanding Donghae to say something.
“And why is that?” Kyu asked without look up from his game.
Hyukjae threw a final look at Donghae before answer, “Because me and Donghae are dating.”
Heechul sprouted out his saliva in pure shock. Kyuhyun looked up in light speed and abandoned his game for the first time and Donghae, from the look on his face, seemly forgot about it.
“Oh, right,” Donghae said innocently.
After they had mutual understanding about not going public about their relationship which is Heechul’s demand, and rejecting Hyukjae’s offer to walk home together, Heechul demanded ‘Why’ from Donghae.
“I thought you’re not into guys,” Kyuhyun said solemnly, not to the fact that his friend dating a guy, but to the fact that his friend dating Lee Hyukjae. According to the rumors he (and entire school) had heard, Hyukjae is a bastard.
“I’m not,” Donghae said simply.
“So, why?” Heechul demanded again. His patience about to vanish because he had to cancel his date with his boyfriend just to make this matter clear.
Donghae, not even intended on lied to his hyung (and dongsaeng) just straightly answer without even thinking, “Because I saw him with Jessica.”
