Rare posting from me

It is parent teacher conference night and I am stuck here until 8PM. At least I actually had parents show up today. There were two no shows but I expected them not to show up. I also had an IEP meeting scheduled  and a manifestation determination hearing. An IEP meeting is an Individual Education Plan. All special education students have one and basically they are goals that we are going to work on for the next year and amount of services provided. A manifestation determination hearing is when the IEP team convenes to determine if a particular behavior is a direct result of a student's disability. Both meetings went well, but were long and mentally draining. The school did provide dinner but during the time that I was in these meetings and by the time we got out all of the food was gone. Well I take that back there were snack sized bags of Doritos and some soda left. So I had a Dr. Pepper for dinner. Tomorrow is the last day of school before a two week break. I can't wait. Two weeks with Morgan!!!  Of course
razordead starts a new job on Monday, but that is okay we still have the afternoons.
I never get the chance to post and now that I have the chance I don't know where to start. Morgan is getting big. Her new game is that we have to chase her whenever we want her for anything. For example if it is time for dinner, we call her and she hightails it out of the room laughing. She is working on potty training. She can say "potty" but since it is not always clear I taught her the sign for "potty" and she does that as well. She has a little ring that sits on the regular potty and we sit there reading books and talking about the events of the day while she takes care of business. She is getting the hang of it. I intend to really work with her while I am on Spring Break. The only thing that we are having a problem with is finding pull ups or panties small enough for her. The smallest we can find is 2T and they are way too big. She is so smart it is scary sometimes.  She is 17 months old and can already follow multi-step directions. Sometimes I forget I am talking to a baby because we have these great conversations. Some of the things that she comes up with make us take a step back and say WOW! She's amazing!  Her twin cousins are 8 days younger but are still babies. They look like babies and there mannerisms are baby. She looks like a tiny little girl and she act like someone much older. People are always amazed that she's only a year and a half old.  Well I could talk about Morgan all night.
I cut my hair. When I say cut I mean cut. I donated 22 inches to Locks of Love. I now have an inverted bob. I really like it a lot. My hair is a lot healthier and easier to take care of. I was afraid that Rusty wouldn't like it but I think that he's gotten used to it....I hope :- \
I better get going. I have to get Albert Einstein (our class guinea pig) ready to go home for break. He needs a break too!
Until next time...
