Pennsic - just wondering...

 I am wondering if it would be a different Pennsic if...

• Kingdoms stopped trying to compete against in fighting, arts & science and service.  (There seems to be a lot of areas where war points are determined {competition})
• The event had the main focus to share, teach and train and not around war points
• If neighboring Kingdoms worked together to improve their skills in all aspects of the SCA

Disclaimer:  I am sure there are examples of where people do come together.  There are classes at Pennsic that anyone can go to.  There are people on the fighting, archery and fencing fields that will teach to whom ever.  Yeap, I see it.  I also see the heavy influence of war points and hear the constant buzz about *beating* the other Kingdom.

Hmmm.

On a macro level you make an event what you want it to be.  Have fun this year at Pennsic and reach out to the other Kingdoms.
