Last week, Ross had his birthday. As much as I don’t always enjoy my birthday (I am going to be twenty-seven forever), I do love to celebrate other people’s birthdays, and I really love to throw a party.

Now you are three! It’s been quite the year, hasn’t it, little lady?

In this third of your life we have moved away from London, where you were born, down to the South Coast.  I sometimes wonder if we did the right thing by moving you away from everything you knew, but when I see what a friendly, confident, and sociable little girl you’re turning ( ... )

It did not go well.  I am massively angry.  I am hugely cross.

I’ve been quite concerned about Ruby for a while.  She has been under the weather since November.  Not sick to the point of staying in bed, but she has high temperatures every week (I should buy shares in Calpol), she’s very snotty and she’s started getting in ear infections.  A couple ( ... )

One of my first memories is that of my parent’s record collection.  It was huge.  I couldn’t tell you exactly how much vinyl my mum and dad had but believe me, it was a lot.  I was 4 when they divorced (don’t feel bad for me, it really didn’t affect me much as a human.  I harbour no resentment to either of my parents for the breakdown of their ( ... )

I have a sniffly baby. By sniffly I mean, his breathing is not quiet, and on a slightly less light-hearted note, by sniffly, I mean feeds are often interrupted by sad little splutters and cries and a few times in the middle of the night, he’s woken up crying trying to get a decent breath.

At the moment I am mostly spending my days with Tiny Son either:

1) attached to me at the boob. I swear, The Girls are his replacement umbilical cord.  I am definitely not complaining - his newly acquired double chin tells me feeding is going pretty well.  Sometimes he’ll have a quick five minute snack, other times he’ll latch on for hours.  Yes, ( ... )
