As if by magic… the "switch back to plain text" option appeared at the bottom of the Rich Text editor.

Also, while I'm here: announcement about HitBox on LiveJournal.

e: Oh yes. The new customization area is here too. That's now the official way to change the title of your journal, as well as pick your mood theme and journal style.
