Weekly Rant
Recently I've felt the need to rant so I'm going to try and start a "Weekly Rant", in which I'll rant and rave at least once a week (if I have a life that week. It all depends on school and band.) So, now for today's topic!
I know I'm skinny, there's no need to tell me:
All too often do I hear a comment about me being skinny and whoever happens to be talking to me calling themself 'fat'. What I want to know is why its okay if an obese person to be healthy and just not able to get rid of the extra weight but its not okay for a skinny person to be just not able to gain pounds? (This isn't meant to insult any obese people, its a rant about the people who feel the need to inform skinny people that they are "skinny" as if they can't observe that for themselves.) Most of my friends understand that I hate being skinny and would give anything to gain a few pounds. Kudos to those friends who understand.
Here's something for those who "want to be skinny":
-Jeans never fit right. They are either too small or too big, you just have to pick wether you want to breathe and "fit in" or if you want to have baggy jeans and be critized for them.
-Swimsuits. They too, never fit right. Thats why many "skinny" people wear two-pieces. Its not because they want to "show off their body" its because one-pieces don't fit! One-pieces tend to have excess and just generally feel "too big".
-Not to mention, the COMMENTS! Which is what this whole rant is about. If you are "skinny" then you get told so constantly no matter your feelings on the topic and as if you can't tell so for yourself. And the comments aren't always meant to be nice too, some are aimed to hurt.
-And finally, the guilt. The big "G". No matter how apathetic you may be towards others, if someone says that they wish they were as skinny as you in a sad voice, you feel guilt. Its human nature.
Well thats the end of that rant for now. And this rant wasn't directed at anyone in particular, espcially not my friends (most of the time). They usually understand and I don't know what I would do without them. <3 ya guys! X3
