Got my first blackbelt screening coming up tonight. I don't know how it's done at other schools, but we have a series of tests over three months, at the end of which the school's owner decides if you're ready to go in to the Cities for your final examination, or if you need to train harder and retake the screenings. Each screening can be... well, basically as long as the instructor wants it to be, I've heard anywhere from one to three hours, depending on how well he thinks people are doing.
I... don't think it's a particularly good sign when they feel the need to tell you beforehand what the rules are for where and how you're allowed to throw up during the test. Heh.
I'm just gonna go quietly have a nervous meltdown in the corner now.
Update: Still alive. Didn't get yelled at by the owner. Didn't collapse. Didn't blank out and forget the moves for my new form. Managed not to join in when the girl I was partnered with started crying. (It wasn't anything I did - I was just holding stuff for her to kick at that point - it was just really hard.)
Haven't been given my in-depth assessment yet, but... so far, so good.
