New Ear Piercings

Friday afternoon:
The only piercings I had until an hour ago were one hole in each ear. Now I have two industrials and two more holes at the bottoms. Four piercings in one day; that's pretty intense for the first time. Apparently I take them extremely well because I don't make any noise or flinch. Industrials don't hurt nearly as much as I've been told - the only things that hurt are motherfucking clamps! Augh! And strangely enough, they hurt the most on my lobes. Feh!

Right now it only feels like I have sunburn on my ears, and where my industrials are is a little sore but only because we had to remove the bar for the top one because it wasn't the right length and then replaced it and, ehhh that was the first one I got done out of the four, so replacing them was uncomfortable to say the least. But everything should be fine, and I'm definitely glad I got them done.

Saturday afternoon:
The piercings are doing just fine. I'm doing salt water soaks twice a day and am using A&D on them after I clean them. So far I've been quite successful in keeping them hidden, something I'm going to keep trying to continue until I get all of them done. I've tweaked the original map I've wanted ever since I drew it up early last year; I should be able to complete it by the next session I have, the next two at the most. Thank god I decided to keep my hair long!

Yesterday I fell asleep at Karissa's house, and I suppose during that blood got into my hair or something, because when I woke up later and was at my house with Kristin researching the finer points of proper piercing after-care, she asked to take a picture of the new piercings and I found that some of my hair was stuck to them. The removal of blood chunks ensued! That part didn't gross me out in the least, and like picking off a scab, it was actually very satisfying. I got this huge chunk off and was admiring it before my brother made me throw it away. Jonathan is the only family member thus far that knows about these. My mother is going to flip out like nobody's business when she sees them, but she's also against the idea of me having anything besides one hole in each ear. A piercing is a piercing - it wouldn't matter if it were just a simple cartilage one to her or, well, what I got yesterday. Getting them all done and her seeing them all at once is a questionable decision, but it will be more comparable to ripping off a band-aid than other options.

Jonathan was also so helpful as to take Kristin and me to get A&D last night.. Kristin got her rook done, and it's pretty sweet. We dropped her off and I got home and took a desperately-needed shower (I was gross anyway). I went to bed shortly after.

My piercer called me this afternoon to check up on me... how nice is that? I'm going to have him do the rest of the things I want, too. He was really good - wonderful bedside manner and very professional from a technical stance as well. And the prices were excellent - I think Kristin and I saved at least fifty dollars between the two of us (I covered for her because she left her wallet at home, haha).

I'm looking forward to being able to change my bars and also to getting the rest of what I want done, and also being able to wear headphones on my right ear again. All of this isn't a result of spur-of-the-moment decisions in the least, as I've been considering and have felt comfortable with the concept of my map for over a year now. It's nice to see it come to life, finally.

happy, interesting
