Character Information
Name: Eridan Ampora
Canon Origin/Series: Homestuck
School Year: 3rd
Gender: Male
Age: 13
Out of school living location: Toulon, France.
Blood status: Pureblood.

Personality: Eridan Ampora is a pretty egotistical person. Since he's higher in the caste system, he thinks it's okay to lord that over everyone else. Calling others below him in the caste system 'gutterbloods', 'mudbloods', saying they have filth running through their veins, the works. And he always brings it up with the others at least once. He also orders them around sometimes because he can. Not like anyone listens to him though. He also does almost everything without thinking of what others may think of it. He constantly gets doomsday devices to kill all of the landwellers even though it upsets Feferi and he's constantly douchey to everyone and doesn't think about anyone's feelings. He also flirts with everyone. If you are a little irritated with him, he'll immediately accuse you of harboring black feelings for him. Likewise he will also flirt red with you whether you want him or not. He doesn't even care if it makes you uncomfortable. It's him before anyone else.

As previously stated, he has a genocide complex therefore he has a passion of trying to wipe out everyone on the surface of Alternia. Everyone that isn't a seadweller anyway. He's developed this genocide complex mostly through how the landwellers were polluting the ocean and through abuse throughout the years. Not many people really like him so he only really had a few friends and a moirail. And as it turns out, his moirail was only being his moirail because she didn't want him killing everyone; not because they were destined like Eridan had thought. After a while of being in Sgrub, more and more of his friends started disliking him and he got more and more hurt. Eventually, he snapped and killed his once moirail, his good friend, and he destroyed the last thing that could save the troll race.

Another thing about Ampora is that despite how much of a douche he is, he doesn't try to be one. He tries to be noble. A savior. Such as he thinks that killing all of the landwellers would help out Alternia because it would stop pollution in the water. Never mind that there would be a significant less amount of trolls. He does do one thing that is good for the race though. When Feferi's lusus is hungry, she starts to raise her voice. When her voice is raised, trolls start dying. It's called the Vast Glub. So Eridan kills lusii to keep Feferi's lusus fed. He could just easily keep her unfed until all of the landwellers are dead but he chose not to. He still cares a little. So he is a good person in a way. He just needs a good push in the right direction.

Eridan is also a pretty determined person. He gets flushed red or black for anyone just so he can have a kismesis or matesprit. He will flirt with you either way until you refuse or accept him. And if you refuse him, he tends to make pretty big deals about it. Or he just keeps trying. But he usually won't let it go for a while. He brings it up in conversation, he messages you about it, and even if you were his kismesis once and broke up with him he still tries to get you back. He's really determined to fill his quadrants.

Canon Background: THERE ARE SERIOUS SPOILERS HERE. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

The first time we see Eridan is with his moirail, Feferi. They go home after feeding her lusus and have a talk about feelings like normal. The talk ending with Feferi asking him who he's red for and him cutting her off because he's embarrassed. He then looks for a drink but fails to find one so he proceeds to talk to his ex-kismesis, Vriska. But she doesn't answer because she's got hotter irons in the fire than him (she was busy putting her injured lusus out of it's misery). After a few more pages or so it switches to a little bit into the future where Feferi was just brought into Sgrub. Eridan is relieved to here that she was okay and confesses that he had something to tell her. Well, she had something to tell him as well and what she says does not please him. She breaks up with him because she has no reason to be his moirail. He is completely devastated and begs her not to. He even starts typing normal to show how serious he was about this. After a little bit more of talking, he proposes that maybe she should think about being his matesprit. She rejects him though which hurts him pretty badly. Then she leaves to go save Sollux from dying.

Hurt and feeling betrayed, he goes to Karkat for romance advice but Karkat seems to be busy so he asks Gamzee where Karkat was. Gamzee tells him that Karkat was grieving for Sollux because Sollux had died saving Feferi's life. Eridan feels like a total douche for calling Sollux names earlier. Gamzee asks him if he wanted to talk to him about his love issues so Eridan does. Gamzee gives him advice, telling him to just chill and snap into a bottle of rude elixir and get his wicked zone on. Eridan is confused and Gamzee tells him to reunite with the bottle like he and it were long lost lovers. Eridan starts getting frustrated and Gamzee tells him to drink a Faygo. And luckily for Eridan, he had one in his hive. He then proceeds to drink it and the next panel shows a poorly drawn picture of him showing his distaste for the drink.

The next time we see Eridan is kind of brief. He talks to Karkat about how Gamzee is shameless for leaving piles of horns around and clothes around and how Karkat will never find his shitty want pile because it's hidden well. Then he talks to Terezi and asks her to leave Sollux a message about meeting him outside for a duel. Which is his attempt at trying to have her mediate for them. And she calls him pathetic and leaves. He then talks to Vriska and they have a small awkward conversation and he asks her why they even broke up. She tells him their rivalry had run it's course and so he tells her that he's going to get a better rivalry that will make theirs look like a kiddie game. But it doesn't effect Vriska at all.
We then see him later on talking to Rose. He heard that she was a witch and he tells her that he doesn't believe she is. He also flirts with her a little here and there. She is simply amused by this and at the end of their conversation, she uses magic to blow up his computer. He is completely irritated from that.

Later on he had convinced Kanaya to make him a wand of white magic science. He then messages Jade, telling her that he had a great rifle for her to use. Well, she doesn't want to use it because during that conversation, not only did he flirt with her a little but he was being kind of a douche so when he sent her the code for it, she simply threw it away. Which completely offended him because it was like a family heirloom, even though trolls don't have families. It was his main gene donator's gun.

After that, he talks to Karkat, complaining that he was really lonely during Sgrub and saying that he wouldn't have minded anyone hanging out with him at the Land of Wrath and Angels. Even the "kittycat shipper cavve girl". He complains that even after being Nepeta's server player and saving her life, she still rejected him. Karkat tells him that not only is Nepeta still obsessed with himself but Eridan shows her no respect anyway so he wouldn't make much progress with her. Eridan switches the subject to how hard the angels on LOWAA were to kill and Karkat calls him an idiot because the angels were his consorts that were meant for a different purpose in the game. Then he has a short talk with Kanaya. He thanks her for all of the training she did with him and she tells him all she did was make the wand. She had nothing else to do with his newfound power. He then notices that she had the Matriorb and asks her what she was going to do with it. She tells him she was going to hatch it and he immediately demands to be a part of repopulating the trolls. After that, he talks to Feferi and Sollux. He tries to get Feferi to join sides with Jack with him because then she won't be killed, which she refuses. He tells her that as the Prince of Hope, he knows when all hope is lost. Going to Jack will hopefully spare his and Feferi's life. Sollux gets mad that he would even suggest this and attempts to stop Eridan by fighting him. The fight ends badly for Sollux though. Eridan overpowers him and knocks him out, also blinding him in the process. Feferi gets ready to take revenge for what Eridan did and Eridan realizes that Feferi doesn't care about him at all, thus snapping and killing her. He then turns around and notices Kanaya get ready for a fight. He destroys the Matriorb and then kills her too. Then he absconds to another part in the Veil, leaving Karkat alone in a room full of bodies and blood.

We then see a small little glimpse of Past Eridan. Karkat opens up a memo, explaining that Gamzee went insane and Eridan killed Feferi and Kanaya and Past Eridan steps up to say that he would never do that. He also asks Karkat if he wanted to come visit him in LOWAA.

The last time we see Eridan is later on in the Veil. He walks up to Vriska, ready to challenge her. Before they can fight, Gamzee appears wearing Equius and Nepeta's clothing with his clubs in hand. Before Eridan, Vriska, and Gamzee can fight, Kanaya comes running up after being revived and kicks Gamzee in the balls off the edge of the platform they were standing on. Then she takes Eridan's wand, breaks it, and then saws him in half with her chainsaw, completely and utterly killing him.

Background (AU!Canon; HP): Dog. Unlike most purebloods, Eridan grew up with his father in the (magic) military. He lives in Toulon, France and is completely fascinated by the military harbor there. He's also fascinated by the science of how things work. He spends a little more time reading on history and learning the ways of how things are made than training with magic. He's also fascinated by the sea. When he's not busy training in the ways of magic, he is usually sitting near the ocean, enjoying nature's melody.

He kind of really dislikes people because of how many times he's been rejected/picked on. Although he still tries for a girlfriend or hell even a boyfriend. He doesn't really care as long as he's got himself a mate.

His dad is almost never home and his mother doesn't pay much attention to him so he bought himself a pet to keep him company. A female Eastern Water Dragon named Pearl. She tends to sit on his shoulders while he goes to places.

Also since he's pretty much ignored all of the time, he's had time to look around the city and such and unlike most purebloods, he's grown fond of Muggleborn bands and brands of clothing. Bands that are even obscure to Muggleborns. He takes pride in this though and he's not afraid to show it.

Since he's a pureblood who likes Muggleborn things, he's not really all that liked in the pureblood society so most of his friends are half-bloods or muggleborn. He still lords the fact that he's pureblood over them though.

The types of spells he's good with are conjuring spells. He's also an exceptional flyer but he doesn't like flying on his broom because everyone else does all of the time. Days.

How would your character fit in to each House?

Gryffindor:
- Bravery: Eridan's not really brave so much as he is stupid. He goes on headfirst without a care in the world, thinking that he'll win. It's not bravery, it's stupidity.
- Courage: He does have courage though. If he thinks it's for the good of everyone or himself, he will face whatever fears he may have.
- Nerve: Eridan's got a lot of nerve. Killing anyone doesn't really seem to effect him so he could easily murder his friend if it was for the good of others or himself.
- Chivalry: He can be chivalrous but he really isn't that much at all.
This would be kind of bad choice.

Hufflepuff:
-Loyalty: Eridan's really not the loyalest person. He will stick to your side but he doesn't listen to you and he may later on betray you.
- Fair Play: He doesn't believe in fair play unless it's unfair to him. He's kind of really selfish.
- Hardwork: He works mostly for himself so if this would ever have to do with teamwork then you may have a hard time convincing him to work with the others.
- Tolerance: He's got a lot of tolerance but only so much. He will break after enough stress/pressure/abuse.
This would be a pretty terrible choice.

Ravenclaw:
- Wit: Eridan isn't really stupid intelligence wise. He's got a pretty good amount of wits and he puts them to good use.
- Intelligence: He may act dumb and he may make bad decisions but he is intelligent. He thinks things as thoroughly as he can. Be it as it may what he's thinking on might be a bad decision but he still thinks on it rather than just doing it immediately.
- Learning: He learns pretty well but it's up to him if he uses the knowledge he's learned or not.
- Creativity: He's actually pretty creative. He thinks up different ways to kill the landwellers and he thinks up creative and unique strategies. He mostly uses his creativity for battles but he would use them for something else.
This would be a pretty good choice.

Slytherin:
- Resourcefulness: Eridan is a pretty resourceful person. He's able to adapt to things easily, get back on his feet after being beaten down, and he's able to put things around him to good use.
- Ambition: Eridan has had a goal since he was young (filling his quadrants) and he's still trying to pursue it. He's a very ambitious and determined person and when he sets a goal, he tries to achieve it at almost all costs.
- Leadership: Eridan is actually a really, really bad leader. Really bad. He hardly listens to his teammates and he makes everyone too mad at him before he would even get an order in.
- Cunning: Eridan's not really cunning. He tries to be sneaky and deceitful but he's as easy to read as an open book. You can see through his lies really easily, thus, he's never really achieved anything in life.
This would be an okay choice.

Sample Interaction Post in Third Person: Eridan grumbles as he tapes his broom back together. He was usually really good at flying, never running into anything, always flying in line a neatly. But this time was different. This time, he got a little distracted.

She was beautiful, funny, and extremely nice. ---EXTR--EM--ELY really. Her name was Feferi Peixes and he was madly in love with that girl. While he was flying, he had noticed her. He kept flying though while keeping an eye on her and the way in front of him. He wasn't about to lose his perfect flying reputation just yet. She seemed like she was fine, nothing really going on so he started to pay more attention to flying. That is, until he noticed that filthy lowblood come up and kiss her on the cheek. He had completely lost track of what he was doing as it settled in. She was already taken. She was already taken by that disgusting mudblood. It was at that moment that he had hit a tree and snapped his broom in half. He had never been more embarrassed in his life. He took his broom halves and headed back to his dorm, hearing everyone, even Feferi laugh at him as he walked into the building.

And it was now that he decided that him and that lowblood were destined to be rivals. Now that he was remembering his grin as he softly kissed her on the cheek. Eridan only got more and more peeved as he thought about it.

"Fuckin' mudblood doesn't know his place."

He wraps the last piece of tape on the broom.

"I guess I'll just have to teach him myself."
