[Mid-morning is drawing near, and the house is too quiet. Martel should have been awake already. Despite the uncertainty that has settled heavily between him and his sister, there are plenty of things Mithos does still know about her, and this is definitely out of the ordinary. Softly, he knocks at her door. No reply. With a knot of worry ( Read more... )

[While Kratos wanders around the village, he picks up Mithos' mana signature. As he looks around to see if he can spot the boy, he tenses, even when Mithos is nowhere to be seen. He begins to walk again, wondering if he can avoid another encounter with his former Lord.]

[action] wait I know the answer to this imatreenow September 20 2011, 02:56:35 UTC
[The answer to that question is a resounding no, Kratos. Mithos detects the other's presence and immediately shifts direction, intending to intercept his path. Picking a fight despite the steep disparity in power might seem like a terrible idea, but he's past caring. His anger and despair cannot be contained by the limits of his power. His only goal is the suffering of others, and Kratos is very high on the list.

As he nears Kratos, he prepares his blade. Ambushing with magic isn't feasilble in this dismally weakened state; the seraph would notice before he could accomplish anything. Only his mana signature alerts his former teacher of his presence as he hurtles at him from behind.]

[It's a good thing Kratos has quick reflexes--he senses Mithos' mana signature and quickly draws his own blade, turning to block the boy's attack with a fierce glare.]

[Their blades lock, as do their glares. He tries to push back against Kratos - nothing should block his path to exacting retribution. Kratos deserves all of this pain and agony, not him. It should be fairly obvious from a glance that this is not the first battle Mithos has engaged himself in recently.]

[It's definitely obvious, and Kratos narrows his eyes a little more.]

What do you hope to accomplish from this, Mithos?

I don't have to explain anything to you! [A traitor doesn't even deserve to know that Martel has gone. He isn't going to let him pretend to feel sorrow, as if Kratos actually cares after everything he did, as if he can still understand how broken Mithos's heart is.

He pushes himself back and makes another attempt for Kratos's blood.]

[Mithos' second attempt is met with a second attempt to block from Kratos, though this one isn't as precise.]

Enough!

[No, it isn't enough. Nowhere near enough. That's the problem -- it won't be enough until Kratos feels all the hurt boiling over inside himself.]

Shut up! [and here's a third attempt. Although, there is a fundamental problem with trying to gain an upper hand against the very person who taught him everything he knows about wielding a sword.]

[Definitely a problem. Kratos attempts to block again and try to knock Mithos back at the same time.]

There's no meaning for this!

There's no meaning to anything! [Martel is gone Martel is gone Martel is gone even though he thought here they could begin to make up the time they had lost to death's void. Any world with his sister, however flawed it may be, is better than one without her. There is no other choice no chance nothing else.

Kratos succeeds in overpowering him and he's forced back, but he won't let that stop him. He goes for a different approach, aiming for the man's leg.]

[For one moment, Kratos lets his guard down, hissing in pain as Mithos' sword makes contact with his leg. Another attempt is made to shove Mithos back. All of this serves to remind Kratos of his own failure to stop his pupil from descending into madness.]

[A maddened smirk blooms across his face as he feels the blade connect. Fall apart like he did. Pain is what traitors deserve, not him. He's pushed back by Kratos's force and this time has to brace himself against falling. But he'll keep coming at the other, until there's nothing left to damage. Better stop him.]

[Kratos makes an attempt to grab Mithos' wrist. Enough is enough.]

Mithos!

[His blade stops and Mithos struggles to wrest his arm from Kratos's grip.]

Let go of me, you miserable traitor!

If you refuse to stop, Mithos, then I have no other choice!

[His grip on Mithos' wrist tightens.]

[Of course he isn't going to stop. Has the hurt stop? No. His sword is tied up, but he can attempt to kick Kratos in the shin.]
