sweet home~
The paintings were the first to go. Wrapped in newspapers along with the picture frames. Put into balikbayan boxes, neatly arranged by height. The books were next. In shopping bags this time, half a dozen or so of them. All to be sent to a different house, for the time being.
Our home is slowly being filled with boxes of all sizes, those and nothing else. I can see the expanse of white again. It would be nice except there are marks, rectangles where the photographs and drawings used to be. They make it sad.
They make it more real - our home is getting emptier by the day, one box piled high on top of the other, leaving not much else.
Maybe I should have taken a picture of everything before they started. Maybe. But it was spontaneous. Or I was just too busy. No matter. Things are changing, getting a fresh coat of paint and perhaps even a new ceiling.
So close to looking up, to finally reaching that elusive seventh line. So what if our rainbow only has five lines. Just because there is a long way to go doesn't mean we won't get there. ;)
And just because my scores in Math are low, in Filipino getting droopy, in English and Lit bordering on questionable, and in ES - well, I don't have the slightest clue how those are doing... Point being: just because my scores aren't what I want them to be doesn't mean they won't ever be.
