I'm going through the rather painful process of admitting defeat when it comes to my freelance projects / clients. Between work, school and Little One, I know I won't have time for any of it.
It started when a client I didn't even want was thrust upon me, at the same time that their previous admin decided to completely sabotage their site. The stress of trying to get their site fixed was pretty amazing. They have a new designer now. I'm still hosting it for free, as a favor, but I'm done with the maintenance side of things.
Next came my beloved Piper. He now has three domains that are exclusively in his own control.
Now... I'm onto testing PHP-Fusion as a content management system so that another client can maintain his own updates without my help. Finally got the PHP working, and I can access the custom administration panels. Updating the theme shouldn't be too difficult.
Only one problem...
Once I've re-calibrated the site to look like an ordinary web page... how do I make sure he has access to the admin himself? A hard link doesn't seem to work. I'll have to play with it more. The upside of having as many personal domain names as bikers have tattoos. I have lots of domains that are mine, slated for use eventually, but sitting empty for now. I can do my test changes on them, work out the bugs, and even get approval from the client before I update their site for them.
For now... I should go.
I'm not due to catch my first bus for an hour yet, but, given what happened last week when I experienced some superior bus fail... I wound up at my destination an hour late.
Ye Gods...
I hate being on the bus for hours now. The time spent NOT in front of a computer, hard at work, seems so wasted. Thankfully my school text books have arrived. I'll have something to read at least...
The trip home should be interesting though.
Eye Doctor... I should be blurry and sensitive to light. Thank goodness it's cloudy today.
Just... no reading.
I HAVE GOT TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO GET MOVIES ONTO MY iPOD!!
