Ok so here's the deal:
I didn't get into the University of Maryland. However, I still want to go there. So I will.
Option #1: Appeal.
Of course I have to at least try this. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
Option #2: Spring Term.
If I keep my grades up and get a great recommendation (possibly form Hauptli) and apply in June, maybe that'll work. There are some problems with this. I don't want to stay in Miami for 7 extra months. I will be 18 by this time and can move out from mom's to dads and she can't say a damn thing. But it would also behoove me to move up there for a couple months and get a feel for the city. I need to find doctors for myself, learn to get around the city and do other things related to being disabled. So I might want to move up there and rent a room or something for a couple months and get a job/internship, then switch into the dorm in January.
Option #3: Community College, then transfer. They have a program called the University of Maryland Advantage program. You go to one of their 4 sister schools, then after your first semester (or 15 credits) you may take a course at UMaryland at a 25% discount for your second semester. Then you transfer in your sophomore year. This entire time you have all the perks of a Maryland student, you can attend the same events and have access to the same things. If the other 2 options don't work then this is what I WILL do. This scares me though. Community Colleges don't have dorms. I would need to live in a rented room for a year. Funds for which I don't believe I have. Yes I would get a job, but it's still a cost I may not be able to come up with. I don't know if a scholarship is out there that would help me pay for a place to live will at community college.
Either way, by this time next year, I'll be up in Maryland or D.C.. But I'm gonna need some help everyone. If I'm cranky one day because of stress or something, just go easy on me. I usually cop out of things that don't come easy, but I'm almost tired of my own shit. I want this so I'm going for it. Help!
