Freud Would Have Somthing to Say About This...
So I looked over the 8 poems I've written in the past month. I've been able to learn some interesting things from them.
- That's right, I'm writing poetry at a clip of 2 poems per week. I'm pretty proud of/impressed with myself that I've actually stuck to this and kept it going.
- While my poetry doesn't seem to have gotten significantly better over the past month, the last four as a whole are far better than the first four. i.e. My 1st, 4th, 5th, and 8th are my best, but my 2nd and 3rd are by far my worst.
- I seem to have a recurring theme through my poetry. Of my 8 poems, the topic of 5 of them is explicitly women. In 2 of the others, there is a woman of some sort present (either named or alluded to). Yeah, so it seems that love and women are on my mind roughly 75% of the time. Although the fact that I was drunk or depressed when I started most of these may be skewing these results.
So, draw what conclusions you will, I'm sure all of you know me well enough that none of this is a big surprise to you.
