So.
I haven't posted for a while, and I still don't really have much to say, but... eh.
My library studies and information services course is going kinda well. It's difficult to say how well I'm actually doing with it, because it's only week four and we haven't had much in the way of assessments, but if I fail out of Tafe then I'm doing something wrong! Especially considering this course is mostly practical. It's just hard motivating myself to go. I have twenty-seven contact hours a week, which may not sound like all that much, but I've just come from third year uni, where I had three contact hours a week. So it's a bit of a shock to my system, to say the least.
The course - Cert III, Cert IV and a diploma - qualifies me as a library technician, which is a good place to start. I think I would actually like to be an archivist. We visited an archive, State Records, on Monday, and it was wonderful. Their records only stretch back to the early 1800s but it's still history, and I love history. Plan is to finish Cert III and then get a job in a library and finish my studies part-time.
Writing's not going too well. My excuse for that is I don't have time, but it's more a matter of not having inspiration. I need to kick myself to write more. I need Kate here to whip me into writing shape. <3
I am officially a bachelor. (Okay, it was a lame attempt at a joke, but I must confess to not actually knowing what I am.) I must remember to go to the uni sometime to collect my degree. They said three weeks from the graduation ceremony, which was August 5-ish, so I still have a ways to go.
