I'm getting a little frustrated/annoyed right now.  On the physical side, I've had a very minor sore throat off and on for a few weeks now.  It's not every day and it's not bad at all.  Just noticable that something isn't right.  It's only been bad enough for me to reach for the throat drops twice.  It doesn't seem to be developing into a cold thankfully but it makes me wonder what else could be causing this for so long.  I've also had one of my runs of chronic headaches the past few days and it's getting worse right now...probably because of all the crap below.

On a work note, Hao hasn't been paying much attention to the requests he's been sending me and thus I'm wasting my time dealing with things that I shouldn't.  I just got a note from acqusitions saying that we can't order individual issues of a journal.  I knew this.  But when Hao forwarded an email request and suggested I order it I tried any way.  When he saw the note today he made it seem like I should have known not to order a journal issue...

Then a few minutes ago he forwarded a request from someone in France asking about a manuscript that our library owns.  That's fine but he should have forwarded the request to Rare Books.  I don't have any manuscripts or any knowledge about if this Burmese one contains astrological calanders or not.  I wouldn't be able to tell even if I had the item in front of me.

Another request that makes me annoyed with patrons more than Hao is a professor wanting to borrow about 6 movies that he had previously donated to the library (all of which were donated about 2 years ago).  Unfortunately the request was for me to have them ready and waiting by Monday.  The professor didn't bother to check if the videos were available and just listed the titles from memory and thus almost all the titles are wrong.  Some are shortened.  Some have a year added on to the end for some reason.  And one is even the English title despite the fact that every one of these movies that they've ever given to us are in French.  It turns out that none of the titles are catalog (even though they've been down there for 2 years) and thus I can't verify all the titles.  I forwarded the request to someone downstairs and they located all the items and will be trying to get them all ready in time but since no one else in the world has cataloged them on WorldCat yet it might take some time.

UPDATE: Hao just came in and said that he got the France request from Rare Books and that I shouldn't have forwarded it to them.  I am expected to go get the item and try to figure it out.  If I can't figure it out, then Hao will look at it,  If both of us are stumped, we'll have to ask the one guy on campus that can read Burmese.
