So....
Trees are down, hundreds are still without power, and three are dead....
amazing what 12 hours can change...
Our school was closed on Friday, and may be closed again tomorrow. The Health Science Building where they keep all of the experiments and stuff has been without power since thursday afternoon....
The dorms on Delavan are without power....as well as other houses, including Tom,Chris and Terry's...they lost power Saturday and it is possible they may not have power til the middle of this week.....
the main campus is finally back with power....and all of the people who could not find friends to stay with who had warm dorms or houses...are now on cots in the student center....but most people have found friends to stay with
we had dinner on friday in the student center....but none of the actual workers could come in unless they were students on campus, because of the driving ban.... but other students stood up, most recognizably RHA, and served dinner. I don't think I could ever express my gratitude to them, and to all the people who have given this weekend so that other people can have power and heat in their homes....
I really love Buffalo...the people here are truly amazing...
all in all, disaster overted..sort of.....and why you ask? Because of the goodness of the people at Canisius and in Buffalo. Everyone has stepped up...did what they could...and life, even without power, is continuing on...no matter how cold, or treelimbed it is...
I hope all of you who were hit by this storm are safe and warm, and those who weren't are safe and sound too!
