I'm currently taking five courses, including one by correspondence, which is the normal course load for someone in either Computing or Arts and Sciences. Five is normal for where I'm coming from, and where I'm going to. Unfortunately, one of my classes is a three-hour morning seminar. This means that instead of splitting up the three hours of class we'd have per week, they smoosh them all into one giant lecture, and if you miss that, you've missed the entire week.

As I didn't get a chance to switch into the class until after the first week's seminar had taken place, I missed week one. I was bed-ridden with stomach pains for week two. I've only made it to one of the classes, and from what I've seen, I don't think I'll be able to catch up. I wish it weren't too late to take a different course.

At this point, my options are as follows:
a) stay in the course, see what happens, but end up with a mediocre mark at best.
b) drop the course, disappoint my parents, but acquire time I need to take care of myself physically and time to spend on courses in which I can still succeed.

It may look like a simple choice, but disappointing my parents is something I fear I've already done by leaving Computing. They don't say it, but I can tell by my father's frequent remarks about my plans for the future that there's something here he isn't happy about.

Advice? :(
