This was, by far, the most wonderful weekend in the past year - at least.
WOW!!
As many of you already know, I won tickets for 2 to the SEC championship game from Dr Pepper/Chick-fil-A, a weekend in Atlanta, and tons of other stuff. I took Michael (who else would I have wanted to go away with for a whole weekend, I don’t really know) and everything was perfect! We had a great time meeting new people and spending time together. There were planned activities beyond just the game, so we didn’t have to make plans or figure out when to do what… it was great. We arrived, picked up our packets of tickets and schedules and went from there - to Turner Field, to the Georgia Dome (where I didn’t embarrass myself, played on the field, and met Jay Barker in person), to Underground Atlanta, to the new Georgia Aquarium … and it seems like so much more (and probably is, I just can’t remember right now).
Most importantly we were both able to get away and not think about work or family and just remember who we are and why we love each other. We could just lie around and talk about life (rather than running errands and doing laundry). I know these vacations won’t come around every day, but I really do feel as though we made the most of it.
