I will be starting my new job in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology on August 1st. Minus not really knowing what I'm getting into, I'm excited about the new opportunities.
The down-side to this is that I have to write my resignation letter. I have another week before I need to have it to Kate, who is out of town until the 18th, I think. I don't want to burn bridges (I'm sure I'll need the contacts more urgently than I realize), but I'm really annoyed with where I currently am and the people here. For the past 3 months I've been doing the work of 3 people (for various reasons) and it has put me in a really bad mood... which every time I start to write the phrase: "Fuck you, find another sucker." seems to be all that I really want to say since it most adequately expresses my feelings on the topic. I wonder if there are websites for "writing a resignation letter" (much like there are for "writing a cover letter")? Perhaps cutting-and-pasting a generic form letter onto letterhead would be the best way to go.
