I spent the day chasing and entertaining five-year-olds.  Very loud five-year-olds, might I add.  I must re-emphasize the one very good thing about being a supply teacher: you go home at the end of the day and you will probably never see those kids again.  And, if you do, it will only be for one day, not for months and months.  I could not believe the things some of these kids were coming out with.  Before they students came in this morning, I took the time to place activity baskets on their tables, so they would have some form of entertainment upon arriving in class, and I actually had one kid arrive at his place and go "Oh my god, how BORING" when he saw the activity I had given him.  I was just like, "Um WHAT?!"  Seriously, a five-year-old said that!  Sometimes, I just have to wonder...

Tomorrow is the start of MY extra long weekend.  I don't expect to get called, since it is the day before Easter break, but even if I do, I'm turning it down.  Calvin and I are going to the bank at 2PM to (hopefully) apply for our mortgage.  It's going to be another big step toward getting our house built.  We've already booked an excavator for 8AM on Friday April 9th.  In less than two weeks, we are going to have a big hole in the ground!  It's really starting to get exciting now!

So, tonight, I'm going to read and take it easy.  Our Easter weekend is going to be a bit crazy, as every holiday seems to be.  On Friday, we're eating at my mom and dad's.  On Saturday, I'm making supper for my parents and Melinda, Vincent and Zoey.  On Sunday morning, we're having brunch with Calvin's family and supper at my memere and pepere's.  Before we know it, the whole weekend will have passed us by, yet again.  BUT, once Easter comes, Calvin and I can eat chocolate again, which is great for our taste buds and really bad for our waist lines (we'll try to control ourselves).
