March Break is one week away, and in an alternate universe, where I have a full-time teaching job, I would be ecstatic about this fact. However, due to my NOT having a full-time job and only working part-time right now at best, the fact that March Break is just around the corner means little to nothing. Calvin mentioned that at least during March Break, I will not have to worry about phone calls and I can do whatever I want, guilt free. This is true. I just need to find a hobby!
Anyway, regardless of all that, I have to count myself lucky right now. Maybe I do not have a full-time job, but right now, teachers around the city and province are stressing because the second trimester report cards are due in the next few weeks. Most principals like to have the report cards ready for March Break, so that they can sit back and correct them during their time off. Other principals give their teachers the March Break to work on their report cards. Either way, this is the first time in three years that I am not stressing about report cards before, during or after March Break. It's nice to be on the other side of the downside of teaching sometimes.
It is an absolutely gorgeous day outside today! This is the type of day where spring meets winter. There is still a lot of snow on the ground, especially in places like our backyard where the sun does not shine enough during the day to melt it away. BUT, we're supposed to hit +7 today, which is pretty amazing considering it is only March 6th! I'm seriously considering digging myself a trail to the shed and pulling out a lawn chair so that I can sit on the back deck and read this afternoon. Maybe I'll even dig the snow off of my flower gardens and hopefully my tulips and other seasonals will want to sprout early. You never know!
I've been in a crafty mood for a while, but I'm not sure which craft to take on. I don't have any scrapbooking to do and that is usually my craft of choice. I feel like going to Michael's to browse, but I always spend too much money when I go there. With March Break coming up, it would be nice to have a little project to work on.
