this is not the exciting, detailed recap you're looking for...

Am just back from seeing Jensen & Jared at Creation Con. One of the few events that would drag me out of bed at 4 a.m. on a Sunday.

Other, more together folks than I will hopefully post a full transcript and/or video of the Q&A. I personally didn't take one single picture, on account of being seated alllllllll the way back in row V with Very Tall people infront of me and literally no view of the stage. The tiny bit of J2 I managed to actually see from this vantage point was by the grace of several folks occasionally moving their heads to the side in unison while I leaned forward at just the right moment.

THAT SAID, the Q&A was pretty entertaining and adorable. Jensen came on first by himself (earlier than expected) and fielded questions, up until a familiar voice from off to the side asked "anonymously" what it was like working with a better-looking, younger, taller, more talented actor. Jensen then left and let Jared take over for awhile... unfortunately the girls waiting for the microphone were alittle thrown by the quick switcheroo and proceeded to (unintentionally) make Jared feel like a poor substitute. One heifer had the gall to actually tell him that Jensen could have answered her long, rambling, nonsensical question better than he possibly could. SHUT UP BITCH.

Jensen eventually returned, WEARING A SAM T-SHIRT, and the two got to banter together for a bit. Until an impromptu and touching presentation by some military dude. Then a couple more questions before they were off to sign autographs.

A few random bits I remember offhand:

Someone asked Jensen how he was able to react to Sam's death the way he did (!?), and he said he cares enough about Jared that he only needed to imagine the same things happening in real life. (Crowd: "Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww!" Jensen: "Shut up.")

Jensen nearly put his foot in his mouth about the writers strike, before immediately backpedaling. (He was totally joking, but it's still the first time I've heard anyone in the industry refer unpositively to what's happening.)

During the initial, "My question was for Jensen, AND YOU'RE NOT HIM!" craziness, Jared compensated by doing a Jensen impression. I hope someone posts pics of this. (And Blue Steel.)

Someone asked Jared if he keeps in touch with the GG cast, and of course he mentioned bumping into Milo a year and a half ago. Then praised his Heroes success.

In conclusion: Jared remembers EVERYTHING--every little detail about filming every single episode. Jensen, by his own admission, can't remember what happened two hours ago.

The autographs went by in a blur as we were hustled through like cattle (after the initial LONG WAIT in the auditorium.) Mostly I remember Jared's eyes. He's exactly as sweet and friendly as he seems, and ten times hotter in real life. I shook his hand and told him thank you for coming to Chicago. He was all, "Aw, you're welcome. Thank YOU for coming... coursethat'ssortofthepointIguess..." HEE. I planned on repeating the same moment with Jen, but he must have glanced up while I glanced down and I never got the chance to make eye contact. Waah.

SO, that was my experience in a nutshell, minus the more tedious details. Overall, a good time was had. I've never attended an event like this alone before, and would prefer not to again. No one to squee with = less fun. I resorted to calling my mother from the lobby and squeeing over the phone, but it still wasn't the same.

(Though I did have a dream this morning about Janet, where we were playing with toys together. So maybe that was her way of being there in spirit.)

Now to read the more exciting adventures of others...
